Time has prohibited me from doing a whole lot with my business. However, lately I placed a few new items at "The Spare Room" as I have sold a few things...such as the Redbarn Sweetheart Table.

Red is a color that is supposed to entice your appetite...so how fitting for a table!!!!

This week, I dropped off my chippy shabby chic green coffee table. I love the green and white! Here, take a peak.......

And then look at the new canvas sign..... I love letters and numbers as art.

These are great for Valentine's Day!!!!!

Happy New Year everyone! 2011 brought so many gifts especially with a new son in law and my Jim!!!!

I have been busy creating new items for the vintage shop in Everett just across from Comcast Arena. Such as this red table that I call "Redbarn Sweetheart Table"

The picture doesn't really show the true red colors.....it doesn't show the real tones. This picture makes it look like it has brown tones, but it does not.

2011 Christmas loves

This holiday season comes with such blessings for me. Jim entered my life and has been nothing but a blessing! We are such a great pair as we have so much in common. I love the little gingerbread ornaments that he made. He calls them, "The Unfortunate Gingerbread Men"....take a peak....

Aren't they cute? They are handmade leather products that he hand tools.

Fall items are in at "The Spare Room" right down on Hewitt Avenue in downtown Everett just across from Comcast Arena. Its been awhile since I've updated my blogspot...trying to balance my regular job, teaching Zumba, and spending time with my fantastic man has certainly been a challenge with updates! Add that to computer problems....but here I am getting back to the swing of things again! Come take a peak!

It's been a summer of studying for my PMP (Project Management Professional) exam, following the marriage of my daughter, Natalie to a great guy, Jordan.

Then there was my meeting of Jim... a wonderful man of integrity who treats me like a queen! He's an instructor for Project Managers. Smart, witty..... I am smitten!

Business will be back on course when I finish my exam. It's been "full speed ahead" since late spring. Can't wait to be done with the test and get back to doing two things I love...Zumba instruction and shabby chic furniture! I will keep you posted!

House Blend Summer Plans and Updates!

Summertime is here and it's been awhile since I have taken the time to make updates on this page. My daughter is married now and it was a beautiful wedding.

Fitting into God's plans....(rather than Him fitting into my plans)

After the wedding, I began hitting the Project Management Certification studies hard again, (PMP) and also took some time to seek the Lord again as to what HIS will was with all that I have been involved in. I take my relationship with the Lord very seriously and want to make the best use of my time....so I have dialed back on some involvement in activities that either weren't productive or weren't seeming to line up with God's plan. God has a perfect will and a permissive will. I want the perfect will of God. For so many years I have let Him ride in the backseat while I have driven. He's a much better driver than I!!!!

What's going on with the "Arts"?

Well, we have begun to get some plans together for an August or September improv and music fest. (More details to come). I've sized down my booth at "The Spare Room" in Everett to be able to save a little money and to slim down the responsibility of what I have to showcase each month. AHHHHH....much relief!!!! I have done a little singing as of lately (like old times), and will likely be doing some of that and my Zumba stuff...(okay...it's not really an art....but it all fits in my world of performing and music).

A Glimmer of Hope

There are those things in life that grab your attention...like the earthquake and Tsunami in Japan. It makes me realize how petty I am about some things and causes me to look at re-prioritizing my life.

We're all caught up in our own little world and forget that there is a world around us who need a glimmer of hope. What hope can I offer the people I'm around today? How can I put Sue aside and look for a higher agenda?

I want to make people feel comfortable when I visit with them. So.... I put my guest bedroom together recently....and Patty adopted it. Sorry Patty, I'm not sure that I will really call it that, but for now, it sufices. Here's the pictures.

I have a lot of reorganizing to do in my new place, but it looks like I'll be there sometime in April =)

Inconvenienced and Latest Projects! (Time to catch up)

Well....been a little busy....so just getting back into the swing of things.

Saw this post on Facebook and I thought it was appropriate for what I see going on in our world....I don't know who wrote it....

Yep..it's a converted ol' dresser.... I added a top and now it's my breakfast bar for that needed extra storage!

The beginning of the year is like a spring cleaning for me. Clear out all that has been sitting and I don't need anymore! Not only does this apply to my personal life, but to my professional life as well.

It's been a "heads down" kind of week where I am immersing myself into some kind of organizational heaven....(not that I'll ever get there)!!!!

So, while I'm at it, I am taking a bunch of projects and filling up my space at the store....

Baby it's cold out there!

Brrrrr..... so cold. Attempted to get some painting of an old school desk and full sized headboard done in my detached garage, but stopped at 3/4ths done. I think I will finish when it's a wee bit warmer. Yeah, I have a heater in there, but then the lighting is an issue. That'll soon change! =)

So I did many calligraphy items with primitive art and began working on a texturized brown vintage coffee table. This is phase 1 of the project. The legs will be black. These items should make it to The Spare Room in Everett sometime over the weekend. I just have to find the time to finish them off, price them, deliver and set them up.

I'll post a picture of the brown coffee table once complete.

My life continues to be busy with wedding plans, moving, project management certification and trying to up my workout hours.

Snowfall and a time to re-focus!

Nothing beats the peacefulness of a snowfall. Something about the silence of the flakes falling and the bright white covering can bring a calm to me as I sit and watch.

Take a few steps out by the road though and the peace turns to turmoil. Cars spinning, people frustrated, quickly a completely different scene.

It's kind of like life. God gives us moments of rest to enjoy the peace and beauty of what He is doing. The purity of His peace and love. The purity of His comfort. As we venture out in our world, there is an automatic battle. Our tires are spinning, we are having a tough time climbing a hill, or we slide out of control causing us fear and panic. It's a war out there! So how do we put the peace of God into the roads we have to travel that have discord, fear, panic, uphill challenges and discomfort everywhere around us?

Refocus. I don't know about you, but for me sometimes it's hard for me to believe, but God is in control. Oh Lord, help me in my unbelief! Help me give you the steering wheel and let go of control when I am sliding. Lord, help me to rely on you getting me up the hills of challenges and frustration. What can I do to position myself into letting Him have control? I recently found this.....

LETTING GO TAKES LOVE

To let go does not mean to stop caring,

it means I can't do it for someone else.

So as I move into the New Year, I choose to fear less and love more....to know that God is in control and that He has a good plan. That my role is to simply adore Him and give Him control... I cannot live in fear. This is not only God honoring, but it is a process of self-care and loving myself as He intended.

I leave you with this picture of my precious little friend Preston. I marvel at his childlike faith and simple trust that his parents and family have the best for him. I marvel that he sees himself as a warrior too! Somehow, he can marry the peace that his family provides, (mirroring a God-likeness) with the warrior that God created in him. God created that warrior in all of us. Only in his peace can we effectively do battle and stand strong and be in compliance with the Lord being in control, whether its watching by the sidelines in peace or involving ourselves in a battle.

Natalie and Jordan's engagement!!!!

It happened on a rainy Christmas eve, 2010 about 8:40ish pm....the proposal. Carefully planned...not too surprising was Jordan's proposal. He had called me earlier during the week and told me of his scheme to propose on Christmas eve after finishing up his evening here and then traveling down to his dad and step-mom's home in Enumclaw. I completely approve! He's transparent and adores my daughter, but most of all he loves His Lord!

I knew he was the one for my daughter once I met him. Their story is a "God thing".

Natalie, (my daughter 24 yrs old) had been working at a home pre-school daycare. One day she arrived in her regular daycare casual apparrel and her boss noticed that there was a gas company working outside in the neighborhood. She told Natalie that there was a cute guy working and that she should go make herself seen and known. So Natalie went out to her bosses car, rumaging around in the vehicle and walked back into the daycare. Her boss said, "He's totally checking you out." Then her boss said, "Let's take him some coffee." So they and a few of the kids marched outdoors to give him some coffee and to make some introductions. Pam, (the boss) said, "Let's take some pictures" and managed to scrunch Natalie and Jordan together. Pam bodly said, "Natalie's single. Are you single?" His answer, "yes." Pam didn't stop there though. She said, "Well since you're single and Natalie's single, you should ask her out on a date." Jordan replied, "I would, but she seems like she wouldn't want to go." Natalie said, "Well, that's because I am completely embarassed." Nonetheless, they planned a date.

Natalie and Jordan both had concerns about where the other one was with their faith. They both were attracted to one another. Natalie was to meet Jordan at his work location a day later for that date. All the way there she prayed, "God, he's probably not a Christian. I hope he is. Just help me get through the date. I can't date a man who isn't a Christian."

She arrived at his worksite and called him just as they planned to let him know she was there. It seemed like it was taking forever for him to come out and meet up with her. Little did she know that he was inside spending some time praying almost the same thing as she was, hoping that she too was a Christian.

He took her to dinner. He asked, "do you go to Church?" Natalie was getting a glimmer of hope. Turns out that their beliefs were similar. The rest is history. The moment I met him, I knew...he's the one for her. Never thought that about any other guys that Natalie had dated in the past. And to boot, he has wonderful parents that I have met.

Tonight, I am marveling at what the Lord has done. My shy girl who doesn't go out and pursue men had a man brought to her, completely led by the Lord. It's a beautiful story!

Christmas week Updates!

Here it is...Christmas week. Time flies!

As I ponder the year, I look back at the time I have not made the best use of my time....aka worry. Why can't I just lay things down on the altar and leave them there? Yeah, they crawl off, I put them back on. Sometimes, I have been known to sneak them off of the altar, (as if God can't see)...hah! Eventually, I place them back on. It gets easier and easier to let go...but I think I have been in the realm of being classified as a "professional worrier". It's so old to behave this way. UGH! I am sure none of you can relate!

This year has brought me so much growth though. Taking the time to honor God by becoming the best of me. I have taken time away from things that would draw me into conflict or distract me in any way shape or form from the will of God. I have taken time to adequately care for myself, body, soul and spirit. He deserves my best.

Quality Performance and Awesome Support
This last weekend, I had the privilege of heading up an improv group with the pastor performing with us, It was for a Variety show production that was very well done. Our church had a production that had folks with different gifts showcase them. We had a painter, a monologue artist, a celtic dancer, singers, etc. Each did a quality job as they were nudged by leadership to bring out their best and to display their gift to Jesus. It was one of the funnest events I have been a part of!

I'm planning on spending some time with my daughter and her beau on Christmas and then some friends. Then on New Years heading to Oregon to visit a long time friend. So excited! Christmas is a great time to decorate for me. I love it! Natalie has her beau this year, so that required a new burlap stocking with a "J" on it for "Jordan".

I decided to place my Christmas tree in the dining room this year. First time ever. Why? The view from outside. So here it is in all of it's vintage glory....

Looking forward to hosting a mystery dinner party this weekend, "Pizza, Pasta and Politics". Several "politicians" have agreed to show up; Sarah Palfan, Ronald and Nancy Rogaine, George and Laura Shrub, Maria Cantvotevery Well, Al Gorgeous , Diane Sawher and Nancy Pillpopski. It appears Pepi Razzi was murdered. He was always taking pictures of them and was found dead behind the bushes at Everett's "Martha's Vineyard". Whodunit? We shall see!

Christmas Season 2010: Reflections....

This year has been filled with surprises of many sorts:
1. Natalie met an amazing man, (Jordan) that I adore. God's planning had to have been perfect in this as he has the same type of humor that we enjoy....a little off kilter. I also like how they bring out the best in one another.

2. I have spent the entire year taking care of "Sue". This is NOT the same thing as being selfish, rather it is caring enough about my relationship with my savior that I have honored myself in many ways; eating right, working out, pulling back from over-commitment and having healthy relationships. Somehow, I had gotten a few of these things so confused throughout the years.
Take for instance, relationships...I had thought I had established good boundaries in my life, but instead they were often times weak, (I made excuses for those in my life that were not honoring to me) and sometimes I created walls when I was afraid. My Lord was faithful to show me..."Do you not believe that you are worthy of setting at the King's table? Why are you eating the crumbs off of the floor? Come, dine with me. I adore you." And so I began the climb into the chair and to enjoy His Words, His affections towards me, His allowance of me to stop and to enjoy the life He has chosen for me to live. He has a purpose and though the journey may be difficult at times, it works out for my good. Yes, MY good! Even my mistakes. I have found that when I have stayed close to Him, that He shows a safe path, a way of escape when I am heading down a wrong path and a Father's heart. He is my everything.

3. Then there was a 9 month period of unemployment in which I lost 70% of my income. God had a plan there as well. Not only did I search for work, I sat at His feet and quietly sought His will. Back at Boeing I went to a job I hated and paid a fraction of what I had been making previously, but then, someone from my past remembered my work and got me on in their department....the way it happened was a miracle. Now, I have had 2 extensions as a contractor and am back as a Project Manager, a job that I love to do and back at my previous pay, (minus overtime).

4. "Accidentally" a woman that owned a shop asked if I would make a bunch of signs for her shop in Langley WA to sell. I did, and they sold quickly. So, I began selling at "The Spare Room" in Everett, but my focus shifted to furniture, dressers, etc. The latest is this Kids Art Center....(the shelves are chalkboard)

and then fabric candy cane pillows for the holidays (which have sold out once)

As I continue to trust and open my heart up to the Lord to continue to more and more in my life, I am sure He will continue to bring blessings...(sometimes they won't feel that way, but nonetheless they bring about what He desires and my heart desires). I encourage you to seek Him with all your heart....not for what YOU want, but for whatever He wants. In the end, it'll be good!

Holiday Happenings!

So glad the weekend is here! Busy time of the year for Boeing as they close out projects for the end of the year activities. It's also a busy time of the year for "The Spare Room" in Everett as the season has shifted to Christmas buying.

I want to bring up a prayer request for some dear friends of mine who are really suffering right now... please pray for the Kraft family...precious people who have a steadfast faith as they raise a child who has had a transplant. Please drop by their site and give support. They are tremendous people of faith....they don't demand an explanation from God on why they have had this ongoing challenge, but rather they simply trust. I am so proud of this young couple who have shown the Lord's grace so well in the midst of suffering. The Holidays....

Hi there....its been awhile since I have updated....
I've been busy trying to make enough product to get down to "The Spare Room" in Everett for Christmas. Somehow, I got this idea this year that I wanted to create vintage candy cane items for Christmas decor. I have small cane ornaments to place on a tree and large canes to put next to a tree or as a pillow on a couch, etc. Here's a pic next to my fireplace.

Then I have gone to town making lamb, heart, flag, coffee, tree vintage ornaments.

Come down this weekend to "The Spare Room" and check out other items as well as the incredible store located right next to Comcast arena.

Mystery Weekend and Sales!

Two more black dressers sold this weekend while I was away at Nob Hill Bed and Breakfast in St. Helens....did I mention that my daughter and the owner's son are dating? Yep! And I really like their son! Aren't they cute?

Zumba Weekend!

Haven't worked out this hard since high school track! The Hickory Girls from North Carolina came and led a Flash Mob at the north outlet mall then came down and led a two hour INTENSE Zumba class. Oh my.....

Upon coming home, my cat ran away from me after taking one whiff of me. Everything hurts... I think my eyelashes are even sore!!!!

I was able to see an instructor I think is fabulous at this event tonight...Roberto. He's moving away to the east side of the state.

Tomorrow they lead off for another round of workouts and a fund raiser for the NW Sarcoma Foundation. Houseblend Productions donated this table runner and 6 placemats for the raffle which will feature many items.

If you haven't tried Zumba I highly recommend it! It's not only fun, but a great cardio workout!

Snuggling into fall.....

I've been down to my little shop this week to restock some primitive items. The little black desk, black side table, white side table, pumpkin painted old screen, primitive tray and some shabby pink and white items have sold.

So I have now replaced them with this coffee table:

Over the weekend, it was made very clear to me the reward for what is doing right. I heard a couple of sermons and saw the fruit in my life as I completed something I felt I was nudged to do.

On the flip side of making wise choices, is the obvious...the bad choices. What ever happens to them?

For the person who steals, lies, cheats, lives in rage, compromises their values, etc.....well, they get caught or live in misery and even if they don't (initially), God sees all and consequences will follow....

This weekend was a kick! Performed at New Life with Matt and Sarah from KCMS and it was a lot of fun! It was nice to see many of the gang from "The Follower" play and some folks from NCC. I truly needed a good laugh after one of the most difficult months I've had in years. August was not a picnic. I'm glad it's done and over with. I know the Lord wasn't taken by surprise by family and other events that occurred, but He is faithful! I am hanging on to this scripture taken from The Message,

" Forget about what's happened;

don't keep going over old history.

Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new.

It's bursting out! Don't you see it?

There it is! I'm making a road through the desert." Isaiah 43:18-19

Then Sunday off to "The Spare Room" after church to meet with a customer to get her custom order description and to re-arrange items so I can bring in additional antiques/art to sell. This weekend a number of us will be participating in a Zumba fundraiser (for Breast Cancer). Today I am remembering the dear ladies that I have personally known that have passed due to this wicked disease, Kathy, Lorelei. I am also remembering the survivors who have fought so hard as well for victory!

We are all reminded of the 9/11 event. A BIG thank you to the men and women who daily lay down their lives for our protection. We don't thank you enough!

Also on the agenda is painting up a storm for "The Spare Room" in Everett Wa. I have some dressers that will be painted white similar to this:

Inspirational People!

As an artist, I look to be inspired in many places. Music, drama, stores, and in studying people. I am always amazed by a person of great character. I am thinking of a lady I know right now. She lost her long time husband this year as he battled with cancer. They were truly life partners. Their willingness to serve one another in the good and bad times with a level-headedness second to none is truly amazing. She has stayed strong. She keeps joy even in hardship. She loves because Christ loves. Who is this woman? Gloria.

I can also find inspiration in those that are struggling in daily life. I think of a little boy who I know who has had so much to contend with, it's a wonder he keeps going. Others may give up on him because his circumstances are just too great, but I haven't. I think he's admirable in the midst of absolute chaos. He innocently seems to trust that somehow all will be okay, and J, I am praying that God will honor your life and do way beyond what you ever dreamed or imagined!

I think of a couple who struggle with a child who has had a liver transplant. They have 3 other kiddos, but they keep their focus on the one that gives hope. I think of a family who has been hit so hard by the mortgage crisis that the husband works 3-4 jobs to provide, and the wife equally works as often as she can. Yet, the husband is there JOYFULLY for his wife and kids. The wife is there for her husband and kids. They bite the bullet and budget carefully. They are responsible, but they never forget their priorities.

All of these people are inspirational because they are overcomers. They keep getting up. They give me hope. They are not self-absorbed people. They keep good boundaries in their lives that allow them to succeed. Who is inspirational to you and why?

Taking Care of Yourself

I have spent the last year in a focused effort of taking better care of myself. Something foreign to someone who spent years as a single mom. What does taking care of one self look like? Here are some thoughts:

1. Don't overcrowd your schedule

2. Say "no" if it's a "good idea" rather than a "God idea"

3. Just because your good at a lot of things, doesn't mean you need to do them all

4. Take time to play....try new activities on a regular basis and put them on your calendar as "red dot" days. Red dot days are days that you schedule new things on your calendar that are fun and exciting events just for you. It could be kayaking, walking a new trail, taking up a new hobby, etc.

5. Get some counseling if you need to work through things that hold you back from moving forward. Who doesn't need good godly counsel? If you think you don't, you may need to re-examine.

6. Value yourself enough to have good boundaries

7. Screen who you let take up your life.

8. Don't allow people to squelch your giftings and talents. If they aren't appreciated, it's a sign to move on.

9. Forgive! It's good for you. It doesn't mean reconcilliation, but it does mean that you've released the situation or person(s) to God. He is very good at taking it on. We are not.

10. Relax! God has everything under control!

Handed some flowers.....

This past week is one I would prefer not to repeat. I'll spare the details and just say I am glad there is one who is a secure foundation...who doesn't change His mind every ten seconds, one that doesn't expect me to be responsible for the world's wrongs and one who can steer my boat in a raging storm. There is one who is not the author of confusion and He is for me!
As Kari Jobe says in her song,
"I know that you are for me, I know that you are for me, I know that you will never forsake me in my weaknesses. I know that you have come down, even if to write upon my heart...to remind me of who you are."

Even when we feel that the wind has been knocked out of us and we don't have the strength to get up again, He is there and I rejoice because of it! At the end of a week a friend simply handed me some flowers from her garden. It was as if to say, "I am giving you beauty for ashes."

This last weekend was fabulous! Kayaking in Friday Harbor with hopes of seeing a whale or two and some seals. While we didn't see a whale kayaking, we saw one on the ferry on the way back. It wasn't a warm day by any means, but it still was beautiful! Take a peak at some pictures. Was at Hope Foursquare on Sunday. I am so proud of the congregation there who lost their well-known, well-loved Pastor, Tom Ferguson in May. We all miss him dearly but know that heaven is a sweeter place because he is there.

I also added some new pieces at "The Spare Room" in Everett. White dresser, white potting table and white shelves. Next month I will be increasing my space to add more furniture!

Slimming down in more ways than one.....=)!

I am continuing my love affair with Zumba and this weekend moving on to kayaking. Yeah, it's one way to slim down...but I found another.....

I've had my stuff in a couple of stores and I've decided to slim down to just one. Two is too hard for me to maintain if I want to have a life. I have my own projects that are pleading for my attention around home. So, I am moving all my stuff from the store up north into "The Spare Room" on Hewitt in Everett just across from Comcast. I love the staff there, the organization, the quality and the owner is fantastic! Hopefully it will slim down my responsibilities and help me focus a bit more. I want this to continue to be fun!!!!

So, over the weekend, I completed my love seat shabby chic slip cover. Here's the pic!

Now my little project is a "Trash to Treasure" redemption of some children's items that I am putting together as a set. I found the items seperately and visualized them together....what do you think?

It was great to get together with the ladies on Friday night with a swim, the bbq and then watching Anita Renfro. What fun! Saturday's events were going to Sasafrass in Lakewood (the one just past Marysville) to drop off an order and other stock. I was thrilled to see a lot of missing items for my past stock so it was a good time to refill.

Then took off to "The Lavendar Festival" in Marysville. Ran into a few fellow artists and enjoyed speaking to them. Loved their stuff they were selling, and loved the lavendar that I picked up for my deck.

So, profitable weekend thus far and a lot to get done inthe next day before returning to my real job. Hope your weekend was enjoyable with all the sun!

I have a funny cat story to share...

I was logging into my work computer after just playing with my cat. I then had my normal cereal breakfast and placed the bowl down on the floor until I finished logging in. My cat likes hairspray bottle tops and so she comes over with the top in her mouth, drops it into my bowl as if to say..."We were not done playing". So there was the bottle top floating on the milk....

What do you do when its cool and dreary out over the 4th? Work out....enjoy close relationships.....and.....Grab a cup of coffee then....Ah...relaxing and being creative! So much fun! I love making the little flowers on the pillows. It's been warm today here....but that didn't stop me from going to Zumba with a good friend. I don't know why...it was much harder today....I left dripping in sweat but thoroughly enjoying it! Enjoy this warm week. I intend on finding the water!

Well, went to my first night of Zumba last night on my quest to be a healthier me. LOVED it! The instructor is new so the first night is free thereafter it's 5.00 per night. Pretty darn reasonable! Her classes are Tuesday 7 pm and Friday 6 pm! Where? The Rage Cage on 112th street.

Now...off to do some calligraphy.

Pillows and Dressers!

I spent my weekend finishing off a dresser, a side table, a nightstand and some pillows for "The Spare Room" in Everett. Then I did some hunting for pieces of furniture and had some great finds! I then covered my bar stools and gave my living room a little "pick me up". If you're ever in Everett or Marysville WA., and like vintage or antique items, I hope you stop by and see these stores!

Thank you to Dawn who ventured to a couple of stores that I have my stuff in to help me rearrange things. She's got quite the eye. We put together a little "pink section" in the booth for all those little princesses and the ladies that love pink. I have added some little calligraphy frameables that were fun to put together.

Other than that I've recently been going to hot yoga....oh my goodness.....I hate it and I love it. A great thing to do to wind down for the evening....

Started Friday evening out by joining with my friend from Boeing, Laura to go see "Charly's Aunt"....wow....so clever, perfectly executed and well directed. Talented and quick paced actors. Fabulous!!!! Way to go, Karen Lund!!!! www.taproottheatre.org. A Seattle must see!

But prior to this we went to "Gorditos"...a healthy Mexican Restaurant just across the street. I had the vegetable taco which was wonderful and only 4.10 and very satisfying!!!!

All in all a fun night.....looking for my next adventure....but in the meantime, back to work and stuff around the house this weekend!

Monday Reflections....

I am thinking that today is yeah, a bit rainy....but I am so thankful for what I have....where I live. The gulf coast continues to be on my heart to pray for as we watch the images on TV of birds stuck in the mire and the devastation to the folks that make their living there.

Regardless of where you stand politically, they need our prayers...our government needs our prayers and even BP needs our prayers.

June 6th Weekend Highlights!

Had such a fun weekend! Left later than we wanted to for our Neah Bay Girls Day Outing, but it turned out way better than expected! Left on the Edmonds Ferry and then went directly to Fort Gamble. We met some charming people at The Tea Room at Port Gamble. The owners invited Annette and I into the room even though it had been closed. She had some company and we all got talking and laughed and laughed. We ended up really enjoying the owner and her best friend very much. Thanks Janice and Marilee!

Then into Port Townsend to a little dump for the short evening before we started our hiking/site seeing journey to Neah Bay. Annette, I am so glad for this suggestion. We left in the am for a trip down to Neah Bay...took the walk down to the most northern part of Washington. It's a 1.5 walk...all downhill to the point, all uphill back. Beautiful looking right out to Tatoosh Island and the Cape Flattery Lighthouse. After the walk we went to Cresent Lake and Hurricane Ridge. We saw tons of dear and a Mongoose bird.

Nothing like the outdoors to inspire creativity!
